Father and son stars of stockcar racing will be going head-to-head today - at the biggest indoor race in the world.
Frankie Wainman snr will taking part in his first indoor event, despite the fact that he was Wold Champion way back in 979.
His son, Frankie jnr is the current National Points Champion, New Zealand Grand Slam champion and the 1998 World Champion. They will be powering their 600 break horsepower machines around the tight indoor oval track, competing in front of 60,000 spectators over the weekend.
The event starts today and continues until Sunday alongside the Racing Car Show at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre.
"Qualifying for this event is an excellent way to kick off the motor racing calendar," said Frankie snr, who will be driving his new Tarmac Special car at the show
