From the Telegraph & Argus of January 13, 1976...A major fault has been detected in a large concrete slab that forms part of the roof of Bradford Beck in the centre of the city. A large-scale traffic diversion comes into force on Monday so urgent repairs can be carried out. The slab - 18 feet by 25 feet and 12 inches thick - covers part of Bridge Street.
From the Telegraph & Argus of January 13, 1951...Radio- equipped cars and walkie-talkies may be used by Bradford Corporation water department. The committee has recommended the installation of radio-telephone equipment and the erection of a building at Grumbling Hill, Thornton Moor, at a cost of £1,725. The building would have a fixed transmitter-receiver.
