A Brighouse resident was hit on the head with a screwdriver after confronting a burglar.
The incident happened at around 4.35pm yesterday in Toothill Lane, Toothill. A man and woman drove up to the house in an E-registered white Ford Escort.
The man forced the house door with a screwdriver and took a video recorder from inside. As he left by the front door, the owner of the house returned and confronted the burglar.
He was hit on the head with the screwdriver which caused him to stumble, and the man left the video and made off with the woman. The homeowner was stunned but only slightly injured in the incident.
Police believe yesterday's incident may be linked to several other offences of this type and ask anyone who thinks they may have been a victim to come forward.
