Nostalgia hung in the air as Bradford's St. James's Market sprang to life at 3 am today - for the last weekday trading session on its old site. On Monday a new £1m. fruit and vegetable market on a six-acre site off Wakefield Road will open its doors to 500 greengrocers.
From the Telegraph & Argus of January 16, 1951...A new scheme for life membership of Bradford City was announced at last night's annual meeting of the club's shareholders and supporters association. The plan, to raise capital, was outlined by director O S Wain. For £100, a member will be entitled to a five-guinea season ticket for life.
