A campaign launched amid fears that Bingley and Shipley could lose beat bobbies as part of the district's policing shake-up was going on-line today.
A website was due to be launched where people can add their names to a petition and comment on the Bradford Police Review at www.keepourpolice.com
Although the Keep Our Police campaign is being spearheaded by Shipley Conservatives members of all three main political parties have signed the petition calling for members of the Shipley Community Action Team to retain area responsibility for their specific local beats.
Organisers will be taking the petition to Saltaire and Baildon during the next two weekends.
West Yorkshire Police said Shipley Police Station would end up with more officers than it has at the moment and there would be no station closures. The force added no final decisions on individual officers had yet been taken.
