A Guiseley vets found fame on national television when it appeared in the hit Vets In Practice show.

Millions of viewers tuned in to see how work was done at the White Cross Veterinary group's Guiseley hospital and Eccelshill Centre on BBC 1 last Friday night.

Amongst the cases featured include that of a dog owner from Eccleshill whose pet was given the all clear after a cancer scare.

The documentary programme was filmed in Guiseley last summer and follows locum vet Sally Kingsley, a Vets in Practice regular.

White Cross general manager Tim Harrison said he was initially worried that the film crew would cause problems, but his concerns proved unfounded.

He said: "Our one concern beforehand was that the film crew might get in the way and that things might be staged - but that didn't happen at all.

"They were very professional and will surely make stars out of the clients who feature in the programmes."

Tim said he hoped that the programme would help put Guiseley on the map.

"We pride ourselves on the care our staff show and the professionalism of our vets and nurses and while that's evident in the consulting rooms and operating theatres, we're delighted to be able to show it off to a wider audience on a programme as popular as this.

"It will help raise our profile and all our clients have been ringing up to ask when it's on."

The practice will also feature in the January 21 programme. Last year, Tim's father and co-director, Craig Harrison, featured in the BBC's Vets to the Rescue series last year.
