READERS LETTER: Those of us who at the weekend enjoy a glass of beer often wonder why Bradford public houses are not allowed music and entertainment on a Sunday night. When these laws are extended to the point of forbidding even a wireless set to be in the bar on a Sunday, then they become ridiculous. Recently I observed two policemen order a licensee to turn of an offending set which at the time was tuned in to a religious broadcast. The police, no doubt, were only doing what they conceived to be their duty. The sooner the law is revised, the better. "A REGULAR" Thornbury.
