A 54-year-old man was assaulted and robbed by a gang of youths after they pelted him with snowballs.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident at the junction of Battye Street and Planetrees Road, Laisterdyke, Bradford.

The man was walking home from a nearby pub at about 3.30pm yesterday when a group of four youths started throwing snowballs at him.

After a short time they attacked the man, punching and kicking him to the ground, before stealing his wallet.

All the youths are described as Asian males. One was aged about 16, 5ft 5ins tall, with a thin face and short curly black hair, wearing a dark jacket and tracksuit bottoms.

Another was aged about 19, 5ft 10ins tall, of average build, clean shaven, with short black hair, wearing a navy baseball cap, light coloured bomber jacket and dark tracksuit bottoms.
