A NEW face in Ilkley is hoping to breathe fresh life into a community centre for the over-50s.
Pauline Barstow, right, has just been appointed manager of the Clarke Foley Centre, on Cunliffe Road, and wants to let people in the town know how much is on offer.
"We've got all sorts of different clubs going on," she said. "I don't think enough people know about it.
"We have classes in yoga, art, country dancing, bridge, keep fit and two luncheon clubs for the elderly."
The centre also houses a coffee bar for the over-50s and meeting rooms which can be hired on an evening.
Mrs Barstow, 50, says she intends to focus on building up the business side of the centre.
"Up until now the centre has been run by volunteers and a management
committee," she said. "I want to try and build up the number of organisations that use the centre. Hopefully I will be able to get more people in and make people aware that rooms are available to hire for very reasonable rates."
Mrs Barstow, of Baildon, is also looking for extra volunteers at the centre.
"If I can get any help that would be a bonus," she said. (5-014-AH)
