Promotion-chasing Bradford Park Avenue must beat bogey side Radcliffe Borough at Horsfall Stadium tomorrow if they are to have any chance of reclaiming the leadership of UniBond Division One.

Avenue led the division at the turn of the year, but three defeats on the trot have meant they have tumbled off the summit. They have battled well to claim back-to-back victories, however, which has put them back in second place.

Their two main rivals have difficult away fixtures and Avenue are hoping to cash in if they slip up.

Avenue manager Trevor Storton includes new signing Paul Wharton after the midfielder agreed to a month's loan from neighbours Farsley Celtic.

Defender Neil Lacy returns to the squad and the boss is also hoping centre back Paul Marquis, pictured left, has recovered from a hamstring strain.

Guiseley will be looking to bounce back from last night's defeat in the West Riding County Cup quarter-finals when they host Belper Town at Nethermoor.

Neil Parsley's men twice came from a goal down against Division One rivals Ossett Town, but lost out 3-2 after the visitors netted a late penalty from Michael Midwood. Andy Shuttleworth scored both Guiseley goals.

Mark Lambert had put Town in the lead in the 15th minute, Shuttleworth levelling with a powerful header from an Andy Williams corner 12 minutes into the second half. Midwood restored Town's lead on the hour, but a smart right-foot shot from Shuttleworth equalised four minutes later.

Farsley Celtic manager Martin Haresign watched the game on a fact-finding mission as he takes his side to Ossett Town tomorrow. With Wharton missing, Hare-sign has skipper Paul Stevenson, Ian Blackstone, Damian Place and Richard Hepworth hoping for a recall after missing Saturday's 2-1 home win over Workington.

Liversedge were denied a local derby at Eccleshill United in the Northern Counties East Premier Division because of the wet weather last Saturday, but they are geared up for a home derby tomorrow.

Thackley will travel to Clayborn and both squads are virtually unchanged from last week. The visitors name the 14 who suffered a 4-0 reverse at Arnold Town, while Sedge have centre back Andy Yates in for the unavailable Andy Payne.

Eccleshill United are due another home fixture with a scheduled visit of Sheffield and the pitch is in much better condition this week.

Manager Ray Price hinted that recently signed midfielders Nigel Smith (ex-Farsley Celtic) and Danny Verity (Park Avenue) will start for the first time.
