A local girl swapped Keighley for Pompeii, and her parents Rita and John McCormack spent ten days visiting her last week.
Bridgette McCormack Somma used to go to Holy Family school in Keighley and worked as an au pair when she left.
She later started work as a holiday rep, and met Fiorie, head waiter in the hotel where she worked. They married and settled in Pompeii.
Rita and John go every year to see Bridgette, Fiorie and their children Assunta, seven, and four-year-old Rita.
John says: "We had lovely weather apart from one nasty day. It didn't spoil it though, it was great to go back and see the family."
