A Bradford-based telecommunications firm is promising to speed up Internet use.

Telewest Communications, owners of Yorkshire Cable, launched its blueyonder high-speed broadband service in the city in December.

With access speeds up to ten times faster than conventional dial-up services, the package has since attracted more than 13,500 customers.

Telewest is predicting that many more of its 280,000 dial-up clients will take the high speed option, which comes for a monthly flat rate of £33.

Blueyonder, which supports Windows Millennium, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Macintosh, as well as Windows 95 and 98, is now available to four million homes.
