Public safety, disabled access, web sites and family fun are among subjects addressed by Keighley town centre's own magazine.

The latest glossy issue of Town Talk updates people on work to improve the centre and attract more shoppers.

Details of the various inititives are also on offer during an open day on Monday at the offices of Keighley Town Centre Management and Keighley Area Panel.

The 11am-2pm event is at the offices in Lawkholme Crescent, in the old education building opposite the bus station travel office.

Town Talk reveals the dates of this year's Children's Festival which will offer free days of entertainment around the town centre.

Under-fives' day will be on July 20, Seaside Day on August 18, International Music Days on August 4 and 11 and general entertainment days on July 27, 28, August 3, 10 and 17.

A Liverpool family has already been in touch asking for the dates because they are planning a summer holiday in the Keighley area and do not want to miss the fun.

Last year's Children's Festival cost £30,000, almost half the budget for the year's marketing promotions by Keighley Town Centre Management.

Town Talk also looks at the Nags' National horse race on March 31, Keighley's new Help Point, town centre floral displays and Church Green improvements.

Copies of Town Talk are available from Keighley Information Centre, in the town hall, and Keighley library, or by phoning 01535 618085.
