Smashed vodka bottles and piles of vomit left in the grounds of a Heckmondwike school have forced staff to look at extra security.
An eight-foot high security fence costing £70,000 could now be erected around Cawley Lane Junior, Infant and Nursery School, after youths left a horrendous mess of smashed bottles, pizza boxes and lager cans at the entrance to the nursery.
They had also used the outside of the premises as a toilet.
Head-teacher Richard Ovenden said: "I feel very sorry for the youngsters who are doing this because they have nowhere to go - no green area.
"We had one occasion when a female member of staff who had been working late, was surrounded by a large group of youths who kicked the base of her car as she got in. Staff shouldn't have to be put through that."
He said parents were very supportive and neighbours of the school had been urged to ring the police if they saw anyone on the premises out of school time.
"My prime concern is the nursery play area," said Mr Ovenden. "If they break the lager bottles, the glass is going on the grass and the little ones don't see it."
The fencing will cost around £70,000, and £20,000 of that would have to come from the school.
