Bradford businesswoman Uzma Bashir Sheikh, pictured at work, is more used to business lunches than eating rats and maggots, but she swapped her high-flying lifestyle for life on a desert island in a bid to win £1million.
Uzma, 31, owns the Little Monsters Kindergarten in Simes Street, Bradford, and was one of 16 contestants marooned on a desert island in the Big Brother-style programme Survivor.
Contestants were only allowed to take one luxury item to the island of Pulau Tiga in the Pacific Ocean off Borneo.
They had to provide their own shelter and food - which meant having to eat rodents and bugs - during their time on the island.
The 16 plucky contestants were split up into two separate 'tribes' and were set regular challenges. The losing side was forced to vote one of its members off the island till only one castaway remained to scoop the £1million prize.
All contestants have now returned from the island, and TV chiefs are closely guarding the results of the game show. But Bradford audiences will be able to see how Uzma got on when the programme starts tonight on ITV.
The American version broke viewing records with 58 million tuning in for the final episode. The British version is set to run for eight weeks.
