Ilkley Karate Club were successful at the recent SKU Premiere Championships at the weekend.
Thirteen year-old Ashley Woodhouse completed a hat-trick by taking second place in the junior kata and team kata events and also third place in the boys' junior grade kumite (free fighting) event.
This was only the second tournament that Ashley had competed in since taking up karate last year. This brings his total tally of trophies to five out of only two competitions.
Twelve year-old Simon Wood a current member to the Children's England Squad took the third place trophy after narrowly losing out in the semi-final by one point.
The Ilkley Team consisting of Emily Nicholls (12), Dione Craven (6) and Ashley Woodhouse (13) came second in the Team Kata event.
