Bradford Bulls have re-vamped their match-day operation following fears that excessive red tape was hitting attendances.

Figures show that gates for the five corresponding Super League fixtures at Odsal last season are around 14 per cent down following the switch across town to Valley Parade.

The biggest drop came for the Warrington game with only 9,663 attending this season compared with 17,127 at Odsal last March.

Fans have complained that prices are now too high and have also been highly critical of the need for some supporters to pre-buy tickets at Odsal prior to game day.

Others with student cards and Telegraph & Argus discount vouchers were also forced to exchange them at the ticket office before kick-off in order to gain admission at the turnstiles.

Bulls media manager Stuart Duffy said: "Having listened to the views of many fans, we have reached an agreement with Bradford City that should make going to games far easier for some sections of our following.

"From this Sunday's fixture with Salford, students will be able to enter the ground for half the designated price at any concessionary turnstile on production of a valid student card. They will not have to pre-buy their tickets in future.

"In addition, under-16s who use the T&A voucher, will be able to gain access on production of the coupon at any junior turnstile in either the Carls-berg Stand or North-West corner.

The price has also been reduced from £5 to £3 for voucher holders as the club bid to build up their attendances.

"We sincerely hope this will make things easier for our fans," Duffy added.

A crowd of 11,596 attended the game with Salford at Odsal last season when the Bulls recorded a Super League record 96-16 win.
