IAN DEWHURST blunted Keighley's batting attack as he picked up seven wickets for Idle last weekend.

He captured the wickets of both Lawkholme openers, Ross Towler and Lee Gordon, toleave the home side with just 14 runs on the board and their two leading batsmen back in the pavilion.

The Keighley side were chasing a total of 172-8 after Ross Towler picked up a four-wicket haul from his 15 over spell.

Hehad been unable to prevent idle openers Hassan Adnan (53) and Graham Dobson (71) as they forged an opening partnership of 84. Ashraf followed with a useful contributionof 18 before the Keighley attack got into its stride.

The visitors' middle order fell cheaply as they pushed for quick runs.

After Towler and Gordon had perished Steve Reape (24) and Australian Joel Crouch (21) set about rebuilding the innings. The performed well, but Keighley were unable to find a batsman who could go on to make the big score they needed.

Stuart Ratcliffe added 25, Robinson 15 and Barrett was undefeated on 18 after it became clear they would have to settle for a draw.

Keighley's second string slipped to a five wicket defeat at the hands of Idle 2nds.

N Kamal scored 54 and M Bottomley 60 not out as they reached a total of 188-6. Idle secured victory with five wickets down with D Lyons on 67 not out.
