Investigations were continuing today after the bodies of two men were found in Shipley within 150 yards of each other.

And in a third incident an elderly woman was taken to hospital after falling near the homes on Kirkgate.

Police were alerted after the bodies were found at homes in Kirkgate, near St Paul's Church, yesterday.

Inspector David Drucquer, of Shipley police, said post mortem examinations would be carried out, adding that police were attempting to trace relatives of the two men.

Neighbours of the dead men said one suffered a stroke and the other a heart attack.

An ambulance spokesman said paramedics had found a man in his 50s dead when they arrived at a house on Kirkgate just after 9.50am.

She said paramedics had been flagged down as they left the premises and asked to attend the second address where the other man was found dead.

In a separate incident, an elderly woman was taken to hospital with a head injury after falling on Kirkgate.
