THE Dunlop/Slazenger - sponsored Junior Squash Tournament is being held at Ilkley Tennis and Squash Club this weekend and has attracted a large entry of 80 players.

The great support from Dunlop/Slazenger, and the club's excellent facilities, all help to attract many of the top players from all over the country.

In the boys' Under-15s Thomas Gudzelak (Yorkshire) is top seed, while in the boys' Under-13 Adam Murrills (Cheshire) heads the grade.

In the girls' Under-15 Sapphire Sutcliffe (Yorkshire) is seeded one, while younger sister Scarlet is top seed in the Under-13 events. The club is also hosting an Under-11 mixed event and top seed is George Wileman (Yorkshire).

For the first time in a few years a number of Ilkley players will be participating. They are all players from the newly-formed Ilkley Squash squad.

Emily Smith and Sarah Ambler play in the Under-15 girls while Hannah Beer and Jessica Jarrold play in the Under-13 girls.

Matt Gook-Darling, Harry Dunhill and Tom Pughe all play in the Under-11 mixed event.

All matches start from Saturday morning and the tournament finishes late Sunday afternoon. This is a great opportunity to come along and see the up and coming players of the future at Ilkley Tennis and Squash Club. For further information phone the club on 01943 607182.
