The Haworth and Worth Valley Rotary Club is asking for continued support with its tool appeal.

The 25-strong team aims to collect as many old and unwanted hand tools as possible from households and businesses in the area. They will be refurbished and sent to under developed countries.

The campaign was launched when the club tried to deliver a leaflet to every home in Haworth and was kick-started in the Keighley News.

Chris Kates, the club's International Committee chairman, said: "We've been taken aback by the response to the original appeal via the pages of the KN.

"Almost as soon as the KN hit the street we were receiving phone calls with offers of tools. Our appeal is continuing until the end of March and we hope that the people of Haworth will keep responding in the same magnificent way."

The donated old tools can be left at E & M Rhodes in Mill Hey for collection by the Rotary Club. Members of the Rotary Club can also be called to come and collect the tools, by contacting Mr Kates on 01535 611991.

Once the tools are collected they will be sent to a central depot in Southampton for refurbishing.
