Keighley darts champions Gary Thomspon and Mark Scott beat the new World Champion when the Embassy Darts Roadshow rolled into the area this week.

Gary, who is the current Keighley & District Champion, took just 15 darts to see off the World Champion, Australian Tony David.

Gary (left) scored an average of 100 with each trip to the board and finished on 116. Last year he beat most of the top professionals in the world to win the Blackpool Open

Championship.

Mark Scott, who is a fellow Yorkshire player, got his opportunity when the World Champ missed a double and he stepped in to win with a double-ten. Women's champion Trina Gulliver also showed her skill on the dartboard by going through the evening at Bingley Working Men's Club without being beaten.

Keighley News competition winners David Fielden and Jack Spencer also got their opportunity to take on the world champions. "It's been a fantastic evening," David said.
