Family and friends gathered at St Michael and All Angels Church in Halifax Road, Shelf, to pay tribute to courageous cancer victim Christine Bailey yesterday.
The 43-year-old died after losing her battle against adrenal cancer which affects only one in a million people.
The mother-of-two was carried away from the funeral service on a horse drawn carriage followed by her close family.
Mrs Bailey leaves husband Keith and daughters Adele, 27, who has two sons, and Terri, 16.
A fundraising campaign called A Cure for Christine was supported by more than 350 people in the area and raised £4,500 to enable her to receive treatment pioneered in the United States using treatments derived from shark's cartilage.
