Keighley Athletic bounced back from the previous weeks cup defeat with a resounding victory over Ilkley Dynamos.

The Wharfedale side had no answer to the pace of their Keighley neighbours.

Alex Familio opened the scoring for Athletic inside the first five minutes after a trademark mazy run and minutes later when Familio was brought down in the box, the prolific Steve Kernan slotted home from the spot.

Kernan then added his second after a defensive mix-up and in the closing stages of the half Athletic found themselves going further ahead as first Tom Whitwam and then the impressive Mick Goodwin drove home.

Even the heavy pitch could not slow a rampant Athletic and second half goals came from Martin Foster, Paul Whitaker, substitute Paul Goodwin and Kernan, completing his hat-trick. Ilkley, to their credit, grabbed a late consolation to leave the final score 9-1.
