The Cougars have pledged to give their supporters something to cheer about when Hunslet visit tomorrow.

Clear-the-air talks were held midweek after the Keighley side was thrashed by a resurgent Batley side last weekend.

Coach Gary Moorby was left "embarrassed" by his team's poor display and will be looking for them to make amends against the league's traditional whipping boys.

"We held talks this week and the players held their hands up and admitted it was a very poor performance and things needed to improve," he said, still angry at the manner of the performance which broke a two-game winning streak.

"We sat through the video on Tuesday and watched the side capitulate, especially in the second-half and they have pledged to improve things this week and you will see a different team out there."

Loan-signing Richard Moore has returned to the Bradford Bulls this week in the hope of fulfilling his Super League ambitions, so the Cougars will bring in Mick Banks, who has performed well off the bench, as his replacement.

Karl Smith misses out again with sore ribs, gained landing on the bull in the win over Barrow, handing Leeds Rhino Craig Stanley another start on the wing.

Tommy Gallager, a forward and the other player borrowed in the agreement with the Super League giants, is also in the 17 for the Hunslet game along with former Halifax Blue Sox player Danny Ekis.

With the Cougars facing Hunslet this week and Swinton the next, Moorby is looking to secure two more wins before the season breaks for the National League Cup.

"If we can get the four points, then that will be four wins out of five for us," he added.

"And that is exactly the sort of run we are going to need if we are to make the top nine finish.
