Trevor M Leach, of High Cote, Riddlesden, author of "Trams and Buses of Keighley in Old Photographs", has supplied these topical views of the interior and exterior of Keighley's bus booking and inquiry office when operated by the West Yorkshire Road Car Company Ltd.
This Harrogate-based enterprise took over local Keighley Brothers in 1928.
The photographs probably date from the few years up to 1932, when by absorbing Keighley Corporation Tramways the West Yorkshire Road Car Company added the word Keighley to its title.
This office was situated on the corner of Scott Street and Russell Street, roughly mid-way between the garage off Chapel Lane and the bus station, then a bleak open space on its present site.
It moved into the new art deco bus station offices in 1940.
Part of the bracket supporting the sign here is still in position on the building, now occupied by Rotherwood Recruitment.
