Silsden's championship hopes evaporated when they were beaten at home by Brighouse Town on Saturday.

They needed a good win over the league leaders to keep any realistic hopes of the title alive. Now they have to concentrate on the 'big one' -- the County Challenge Cup on May 10.

They were 1-0 down at half time and could make no impact after the break as Town completed their push to the title with goals from Audy Kenton and Shaun Walsh.

Two goals from Andy Geary led them to victory on Wednesday in a trial run for the Cup Final against Campion.

They were 1-0 up at the break and Geary slotted a second later in the game to give his side the upper hand as they prepare for the clash at Woodlesford.

Keighley Phoenix were also in action on Wednesday, racing away with a 5-2 victory over Otley town. Goals came from Mick McCormack 92), Mick Gillmartin, Ben Furness and Chris Labbett.

Steeton picked themselves up after a lack-lustre performance on Wednesday to beat Salts Old Boys as they continue their run to the Division One title. Facing the same side which had inflicted a rare defeat, they were soon on the back foot again with Old Boys scoring a soft early goal.

After a quick change in formation a cross from Craig Stephens was nodded on and met with a well controlled volley from Daniel Gaudiosi to level the scores at the break.

Steeton were now in more confident mood and Damien Whiteoak scored a second half hat-trick. James Gill came up with a typical 25-yard strike for the fourth. A late rally from Salts got them a second goal, but it was too late as Steeton added three more points to their title chase.

Keighley Shamrocks have seen their promotion chase die away and slipped to a 2-0 defeat by Hall Green. There was no score in the opening period, but second half goals from Andy Williams and John Moore secured victory for United.

Shamrocks enjoyed a 10-goal rampage against Crag Road United. Joe Brady scored five with the other strikes from Adam Dykes (2), D Hannah, G Thompson and S Duckworth

Shamrocks Reserves also struggled, going down 5-3 to Ovenden in Reserve Division One. Scorers for Shamrocks were Andy Barker, Andy Dykes and an own goal.

On Monday Keighley Phoenix Reserves and Keighley Shamrocks Reserves played out a 1-1 draw. Mick thompson scored the Phoenix goal.

Silsden Reserves were beaten 2-1 by second placed Dudley Hill Rangers. John Hindle scored for Silsden with M Meszarus scoring both Dudley Hill goals.

Andy Nelson was on hot scoring form for the Reserves on Wednesday, scoring all four in their 4-0 victory over Hall Green United.
