COUGARS have launched the club's scholarship scheme which is designed to find the rugby league stars of the future.
The programme takes young players with potential and aims to provide them with top quality training, fitness and advice on nutrition to help them develop as players.
Club chairman Neil spencer said: "It is not just about finding players, but helping young people to become good citizens."
Community programme manager Jason Ramshaw added that members of the scholarship scheme would also be expected to set high standards in all areas of their lives. You will have to work well at school and in the community."
A total of 28 young players have been taken on in the first round of the scheme with 5 at Under-13 level, eight Under-14s, five Under-15s and 10 Under-16s.
"We hope you will be the future of the club's first team," said organiser Jeremy Crowther.
