Keighley were left bitterly frustrated as the chance of vital points towards promotion from Division Two were dashed by the rain.

They had visitors Brighouse at their mercy in a rain-restricted game, and were well on course for victory when the match was abandoned.

Brighouse made a promising start with an opening stand of 95, but were kept down to 147 for nine off 50 overs with Dale Towler taking five wickets for 50 off 19 overs.

Keighley were left with only 28 overs to reach their target, but Lee Gordon continued where he left off in scoring a century the previous week by blasting another unbeaten 54 to keep them on course.

He shared a second wicket stand of 76 with Stephen Reape (18) as the run rate left them well-placed.

But with just another 61 runs needed from 15 overs, the heavens opened and the match was called off, potentially robbing them of another five points.

With teams above them managing to complete their matches, it was a double blow and they now sit 11 points outside the promotion spots.
