Rawdon and Burley boosted their survival hopes with victories as the race to avoid the drop from Division A in the Aire-Wharfe League took another twist.

Rawdon's triumph at title-chasing North Leeds was perhaps the biggest shock although Burley's win over Guiseley could prove just as crucial.

Chasing North Leeds' imposing 251-8, few would have given Rawdon much chance but they showed their determination by clinching victory with just one ball to spare.

Their reply was also held up for 13 minutes due to the sun shining directly into one batsman's eyes, but even that could not disrupt Rawdon.

Matt Doyle was the hero with a 94 that included seven sixes while Jonathan Carey offered some vital support with 62.

The victory means second-bottom Rawdon are now just two points behind Guiseley following their thrashing by Burley. David Pike with 71 and David Brook's half century helped Burley post an imposing total of 244.

However, fine knocks by Craig Chaplin (43) and Chris Thompson (40) helped Guiseley to a promising position of 95-2 only for the strugglers to collapse to 119 all out with Nick Brook claiming five for 29.

As a result, Burley leap-frogged above Guiseley but they remain just four points clear of the danger-zone.

Menston remain bottom after they crashed to a three-wicket defeat at league leaders Adel.

Adel lead Follifoot and North Leeds at the top with Steeton 11 points adrift of top spot following defeat at Collingham. Neil Spragg hit 126 and Grant Lindsey 55 as Steeton posted 286 for nine but even that wasn't enough to prevent the home side triumphing by six wickets.

Otley's bid for promotion from Division B suffered a setback when they lost at Kirkstall, leaving them six points adrift of the top two. Scott Johnson claimed five for 21 as Kirkstall were bowled out for 111 but that was too much for an Otley side that collapsed to 70 all out.

Hall Park remain top after a six-wicket triumph over an Ilkley side that are now just three points clear of the relegation zone despite Simon McPhee hitting 62 not out.

Skipton chalked up a rare win at home to Pool thanks to Steve Carling hitting 40 and Martin Windle claiming five for 54.

The race for promotion in Division C continues to hot up with the top four sides separated by just seven points.

Thackley are the new leaders after Steve Coonan's four for 34 helped dispose of Addingham.

The Bradford side replace previous leaders Harden, who could only claim a draw at Ben Rhydding.
