DEFEAT by Baildon on Saturday keeps Yeadon firmly in the relegation dog fight. Saturday's home game with Spen Victoria is a vital clash with Yeadon needing to chip away some of the 12 point lead Spen have over them if they are to remain in Division One.

On Saturday Yeadon batted first and soon had Jonny Henry run out without scoring to add to his miserable season. It became 29-2 when Iain Philliskirk was bowled by Carl Smith for nine. Grant Soames survived a little longer making 25 before being bowled by Ahmed but Damon Gormley produced another excellent innings with an unbeaten 83 as Yeadon were restricted to 165-8.

Gormley however had little support as a varied Baildon attack restricted them. Craig Thornton with ten, Kevin Gilks with 11 and Ryan Duckett with 13 were the only others to reach double figures.

Jonny Henry's brother Chris has enjoyed better fortunes than him since joining Yeadon following the departure of overseas player Damian Shanahan. He and John Roper both had early strikes as Baildon were reduced to 11-2.

This soon became 21-3 as Henry struck again but Paul Spragg set his stall out for victory with an undefeated 72 and he shared an unbroken fifth wicket stand of 104 with Simon Davies (54 no).

Baildon gained victory in 24 overs to leave Yeadon in desperate trouble.

Yeadon seconds had a massive 228 runs win over Salts after skipper Andrew Pickering had batted throughout the innings for an unbeaten 108. He was well supported by young James Todd with a good knock of 65 and Will Darby with 37.

Salts were then shattered by some superb pace bowling from Richard Machell who took 7-9 in 6.4 overs. He clean bowled six of his victims.

The young Salts side was shot out for a mere 35 in just 12.4 overs.

Esholt were without game on Saturday but had a tied game with Hartshead Moor on Sunday.

Batting first Esholt made 198 with Mark Gilliver adding to his enormous tally with an innings of 80.

The only real support he found however came from Kevin Dewhurst who made 65. Former Yeadon all-rounder Naeem Khan picked up 4-59 off 19 overs as Esholt were dismissed.

Hartshead Moor lost the early wicket of C Parkin but then opener N Ward (40) and Naeem Khan (97) shared a second wicket stand of 94.

Despite the efforts of Michael Oldfield (2-46 off 15 overs) and Ben Lister (3-49 off 11) Hartshead managed to tie the game finishing on 198-8.

Bradford and Bingley battle on for one of the promotion spots after beating Windhill by nine wickets. Richard McCarthy took 3-47 and Craig Cockshott 5-28 as Windhill fell for 166. Carl Sharp produced another excellent innings of 80 no and Rob Nichols made 63 as Bingley won.
