TV's real-life Lovejoy is coming to Keighley.

Bronzed antiques icon David Dickinson is making a guest appearance at the Airedale Shopping Centre on September 27.

He will be in the centre from 11.30am-2.30pm, meeting shoppers and staff and signing autographs. He may also provide valuations on small items of furniture.

Mr Dickinson is best known as the presenter of BBC1's popular Bargain Hunt programme, which yesterday was shown for the first time in a primetime evening slot after picking up huge audiences for its traditional morning screening.

Since making his debut appearance on TV some six years ago, in an edition of Modern Times, he has risen to celebrity status and is often likened to the fictional Lovejoy character portrayed by actor Ian McShane.

Airedale Centre manager Chris Gribben said he was delighted at the planned visit, and that it was sure to be very popular with the public.
