Bradford Independent Supporters Association (BISA) today hailed the new agreement to give Bradford Bulls a long-term future at Odsal as potentially the best news the club have had for many years.

In the deal Bradford Council have ended their 1986 agreement with the Bulls and will, subject to negotiation, pay the club £4.64million in order to terminate the contract.

A new deal is expected which will give the Bulls a 150-year lease at Odsal on a peppercorn rent.

BISA chairman Michaela Greasley said: "We are very hopeful that a deal between the Council and the Bulls will secure a successful long-term future for the club.

"We understand that details have still to be resolved and we hope this can be sorted out quickly by both parties."

BISA media officer Sam Grundy said: "The Bulls will need a new lease if they are to ensure development of the stadium and this agreement appears to pave the way for that.

"I am hopeful that the long history of failed Odsal development is now over and the club can now plan to improve the ground by setting achievable goals.

"We at BISA are grateful to the Council and the Bulls for their hard work towards getting an agreement that guarantees our future at Odsal."

Among the lease details still to be agreed include the path of the new guided bus route and car parking.
