Bradford Bulls prop Paul Anderson will unleash three months of pent-up emotion tomorrow when he plays against his home-town team Castleford Tigers at The Jungle.

The 30-year-old, who will start on the bench as usual, has missed the last 12 matches with a broken arm, and admitted today: "It has been so frustrating.

"At least when I had a knee reconstruction in 1998, when I was out for virtually the whole season, I knew that would be the case." Anderson's mood was not improved when he was absent from last Friday's defeat against St Helens.

"I wanted to play," said the 20st 1lb, 6ft 2in giant, "but the coach and the medical staff said no, and you have to respect their opinions."

Castleford are one of the form teams in Tetley's Super League at the moment, and Anderson added: "Graham Steadman and Gary Mercer have now got them playing the way they want.

"And they are chasing hard for that sixth play-off spot with London and Widnes."

Centre Brandon Costin apart, Bulls coach Brian Noble has a full-strength squad to choose from for the live Sky TV clash.

Bearing in mind that Saints are now charging hard for top spot, Noble said the St Helens defeat "may be a wake-up call for us."

He added: "But there wasn't a lot wrong last week, despite what the scoreline may suggest. Believe me we aren't far off the pace."

As for the Tigers, Noble said: "They are playing some super football at the moment and they are the form team in Super League."
