Pop fans are being urged to act quickly if they want to snap up the last few tickets for the Party in the Park in Bingley at the weekend.

Bradford's singing sensation Gareth Gates and chart-topper Darius are among the big names booked for the pop music feast on Sunday, September 1. And today it was revealed reggae band Aswad and Eternal's Esther have joined the line-up.

Also on stage on Sunday will be Hear'say, Atomic Kitten, boy band 3SL, Rhianna, ATC, Jennifer Paige, Blazin' Squad, Intenso Project, Busted, Angelle, Smoke 2 Seven, Lisa Roxanne, Kelly Llorenna and Pop Idol contestant Sarah Whatmore. And organisers Pulse radio and Bradford Council are advising fans to get their tickets early to avoid disappointment.

Julie Burrows, head of marketing at Pulse, said the event at Myrtle Park has a capacity for 27,500 people.

"Tickets for the Party in the Park on Sunday are selling fast and although we don't have exact figures there aren't that many left," she said.

"If people have rung and booked their tickets at St George's Hall I would urge them to pick them up as the hall won't be open on the day and it would be a shame if people missed out."

Gareth Gates fan Stacey Blackburn, 15, of Wrose, will get to meet her idol at the concert after winning a competition organised by Pulse.

The weekend, which is being backed by the Council's Capital of Culture bid team, includes a free concert, Music at Myrtle, on Saturday. This event is also expected to draw large crowds.

The show will feature tribute bands Queen B, Abbasolutely and the Backbeat Beatles. It starts at 5pm and ends at 10pm with a firework finale.

Tickets for the Pulse Party in the Park cost £5 and can be booked by calling the hotline on (01274) 435000.
