The family of a brave nine-year-old boy who lost his fight against cancer are organising a charity fashion show in his memory.
Jack Burnell underwent radiotherapy after suffering a rare brain tumour but died in July this year.
His parents Rosemary and Gordon, of Greenlea Road, Yeadon, wanted to do something as a tribute to Jack and raise money for the Candlelighters appeal.
Mrs Burnell, 35, who has another son Danny, four, said the aim of the fundraising was to make the phrase "terminally ill children" a thing of the past.
"Jack was a vivacious, happy, smiling, effervescent little boy.
"Candlelighters at St James's Hospital raises money to fund research into the types of cancer that Jack had. I was hoping in five years time they might have come up with a cure for it so another little boy can benefit from the research."
Despite undergoing a huge operation and six weeks of radiotherapy at Cookridge Hospital, Jack didn't complain and continued his classes at Westfield Junior School in Yeadon.
"While he was undergoing treatment he lost quite a lot of hair and had a big bald patch at the front," said his mum. "Other children would ask why and he asked his headteacher if he could take an assembly to tell everyone why it was like this."
Mrs Burnell and her 33-year-old husband, who works at Hallmark Cards in Dudley Hill, Bradford, are organising the fashion show called Candles in the Wind at Hollins Hall, Baildon, which donated a room.
"Jack was quite a character and he would have loved to model in the show. We are going to have a bit at the beginning with people holding candles to show that life is too short and we must make the most of it."
She is working with stores, including Debenhams and Next, and is appealing to local companies and businesses to sponsor the show and auction on November 8.
"I want it to be a professional event which will raise a lot of money for Candlelighters, which is also the Lord Mayor of Bradford's chosen charity this year."
Anyone who wants to put an advert in the programme, sponsor a chair or donate a prize to the auction is asked to call Mrs Burnell on (0113) 2506775.
