Heartbroken Gareth Gates fan Elizabeth Wade, pictured, was today bursting with pride after her pop idol sent her some special presents to cheer her up.

The ten-year-old missed his show after breaking her arm at the Party in the Park in Bingley last Sunday.

But, after learning of her plight, Gareth sent her a special parcel to lift her spirits.

And best of all it contained a signed photograph, which now takes pride of place on her bedside table.

The surprise parcel, which also contained four CDs, a souvenir magazine from Sunday's sell-out show and a Telegraph & Argus Gareth Gates calendar, arrived at her Silsden home yesterday courtesy of the T&A.

"It's fantastic," said a wide-eyed Elizabeth, a pupil at St Anne's Primary School, Keighley.

"It's made up for missing the concert. All my friends will be jealous - they'll wish they broke their arms as well!"

And she can't wait to show her gifts to her cousins who were at the concert when she sees them this weekend

Elizabeth, of Sykes Lane, broke her left arm as she took a tumble while she stood on tiptoes straining to see the big screen and wave to her cousins who were also in the 27,000 crowd.

She had only been in the park about 15 minutes and was taken to Airedale General Hospital, Steeton, where she spent the rest of the day getting treatment.

She was heartbroken said her 39-year-old mum Alison because she had waited all summer to see Gareth.

By the time he appeared on stage, Elizabeth was in hospital having her left arm put in a plaster cast.

"I had been looking forward so much to seeing Gareth all summer since mum bought the tickets. I was really upset. I didn't even get a memento," said Elizabeth.

"But this makes up for it - and I can't wait to show my cousins what I've got."
