Nicky Law is happy to keep off the managerial merry-go-round and put his faith in Bradford City - if the club does the same with him.

Law has been repeatedly linked with Hull City, where Jan Molby was sacked last night. But former Leicester boss Peter Taylor was set to be appointed at the Third Division club today.

Law's name has also been mentioned regarding the vacancy at Stoke and also Sheffield Wednesday, where former City chief Terry Yorath is under great pressure.

It is a distracting backdrop for City's home game with Derby tomorrow but the rumours refuse to go away.

And it seems speculation surrounding the boss will keep resurfacing because other clubs are impressed with the job he is doing under such tight constraints.

City are obviously keen to hang on to their highly-rated boss, whose contract runs out at the end of next season. But the financial restrictions in place from the summer make it difficult to negotiate any extension.

Chief executive Julian Rhodes said: "I've spoken to Nicky and he said he is very happy to be here. We are going to have a look at the contract issue but I don't know the situation with regards the supervision we are under.

"This speculation is pleasing in one aspect because it shows we have a successful manager. If Nicky wasn't seen to be doing a good job then his name would not keep appearing.

"But it is annoying as well because it unsettles everybody at the club to see our manager always mentioned in these stories."

Law would certainly welcome talks to increase his present deal. But the onus is on his City paymasters.

He said: "I've got 18 months left of a contract and whether I see all of that out or beyond that or less than that is down to the directors of the football club.

"I've always given 100 per cent for Bradford and I will continue to do that.

"It's awkward, although of course I'm flattered to be linked with other jobs. It says something about how you are doing and you're only going to be mentioned if you are doing well.

"People are going towards the younger manager now."

Molby was sacked after only 17 games in charge. The pre-season promotion favourites have won only twice this season.

Taylor has been in the Far East where he has worked in an advisory role for the Malaysian FA.

Law, who won promotion from the basement division with Chesterfield before joining City, said: "Hull have spent a lot of money this year and aren't doing too well."
