Pupils at Cowling Primary School strode out in style last week wearing self-designed T-shirts to promote School Walking Week.
The week of walking activities -- previously known as Walk to School Week -- started on the Monday when pupils made posters.
The posters were designed on Microsoft Publisher to promote walking, and T-shirts were then printed for years five and six.
The two lower classes designed and made badges to support the week.
Teacher Emma Parker said: "Officially the week is to encourage children to walk to school -- but we can't really encourage that here as we're so far out of the village.
"But we have encouraged walking generally -- by taking the children out on walks. They have been accompanied by a storyteller, who has been reading them stories at various points on the walks.
The children have enjoyed village trails, as well as blackberry picking walks."
Figures released by the Department of Transport this week show that parents in West Yorkshire could save over £300 a year by walking their children to school.
