Sunwin House has dismissed rumours that Father Christmas will not be visiting its Keighley store this Christmas.

A spokesman for the store confirmed yesterday that it had been in touch with the North Pole and Santa Claus was indeed coming to town.

He will be at Sunwin House every Thursday from November 28 to find out if all the children in Keighley have been good this year.

Unfortunately, due to his commitments with all the other children around the world, he will only be able to hear Christmas wishes in Keighley in the evening.

However, because of his soft spot for the children in this area, Santa has made extra space in his busy schedule to come back every Sunday from December 1 and has promised to stay all day.

A spokesman for Sunwin House said: "He will be here on Thursdays from 6pm until 9pm and on Sundays between 10.30am and 4.30pm.

"So if you want you can spend Sunday with Santa or supper with Santa."

Keighley is also welcoming back the traditional Christmas Nativity scene, which used to be on show in Town Hall Square.

The Nativity tableau was removed some years ago due to vandalism and many people have expressed their disappointment at the loss.

Now, thanks to St Anne's and Holy Family schools, Keighley Market and Town Centre Management, the Christmas Nativity scene is set to make a welcome return.

Over the next few weeks pupils from the schools will be busy helping to design and make the crib, which will be on display in the Market Hall during December.
