Two brothers, leading accordion players in their native Russia, perform in Skipton tomorrow.

Nikolai and Ilya Ryskov are performing at 7.30pm as guests of the Cross Hills-based Craven Accordion Centre.

The brothers began their musical education at an early age under the tutelage of their father, who taught accordion at a music school.

After passing exams they continued to study with professors at the Gnessin College of Music, in Moscow, and later at the Russian Academy of Music. Both men performed solo and with ensembles, performing in Switzerland as well as in cities such as Moscow and St Petersburg.

Ilya usually plays the Russian Button Accordian Bayan "Jupiter", and his large repertoire includes classical, original, Russian folk music and French musette. Nikolai specialises in Russian folk music and the classical accordion, and is said to have a mastery of the challenges posed by his instrument.

The brothers perform at Christ Church, Skipton, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5 for adults, £3 for children and OAPs, by phoning 01535 635074.
