Gordons Cranswick has completed more than £10 million of on-line deals for the firm which brews Carling, Grolsch, Worthington's and Reef.

The Bradford law firm was picked as the sole legal provider for lending work at Coors Brewers Ltd a year ago.

The deal saw Coors' in-house lending team move to Gordons Cranswick's Bradford office.

The seven-strong team of four lawyers and three paralegals has total responsibility for both unsecured and secured lending throughout England and Wales.

Around 65 unsecured and 15 secured transactions are completed each month through a dedicated electronic system.

Sales personnel from Coors can tap into the system at any point while they are with customers and initiate the on-line loan. Most of the loans average between £5,000 and £25,000, although sums in excess of £1 million are available for licensees with multiple outlets.

Nick Chamberlain, lead solicitor on the Coors account, said: "We already knew Coors well, as we had been working with them for some time, but we were one of a number of law firms they used.

"Their decision to use only one law firm for this type of work presented us with a great opportunity and a year on it continues to be an expanding account for us."

Paul Hamnett, Coors Brewers free trade investment risk manager, added: "We are delighted with the support we have received from Gordons Cranswick.

"The decision to be our sole legal provider for lending is testament to their dedication to quality since we joined forces.

"The team at Gordons Cranswick has kept on top of an ever increasing workload and helped us in several key areas to improve communication and reduce the lead-time for secured loan completions.

"This in turn helps us to deliver a high quality service to our customers, in what is an increasingly competitive market place."

Gordons Cranswick has offices in Bradford, Keighley and Leeds. It employs more than 200 people.
