Multi-talented youngster James Moorhouse, pictured above, has been handed a chance to represent his county on two fronts.

The 13-year-old pupil at Bingley Grammar School, has been selected to represent Yorkshire at both hockey and swimming.

After a rigorous selection and development programme that started back in April, James has been selected for the Yorkshire Schools hockey team for their inter-county matches in November and December, and has also been selected to compete for the county swimming team later this month.

He plays for Bradford Hockey Club and swims with the City of Bradford Swimming Club and Bingley Swimming Club.

Moorhouse, no relation to local Olympic gold medallist Adrian, is currently the North Eastern Counties champion at 100 metres butterfly.
