Guiseley turn their attentions to winning points in the UniBond Division One tonight following their FA Cup exploits on Saturday, when they journey to Cheshire to face Witton Albion.

Their position in the league is 'unsatisfactory' according to manager Neil Parsley but he is convinced his team will have a new-found inner strength after the memorable 2-1 win over Altrincham at the weekend.

"We didn't play to our best but we beat a good side who play their football in the division higher than us," said Parsley after victory over the Premier Division outfit.

Parsley has secured the services of midfielder Gary Birchill on loan from Conference outfit Halifax Town and he comes into the Guiseley squad for the first time tonight.

Late last night he was hoping to register former Bradford City reserve striker Andy Patterson in time for him to be included. Parsley had approached near neighbours Thackley and, having been given permission to talk to the 21-year-old, made his bid yesterday.

Midfielders Richard Chattoe (hamstring) and Andy Watson (calf) picked up injuries in the win over Altrincham and keeper James Shutt, and forward Kevin Newhouse will also not be travelling.

Guiseley will now face Dr Martens Premier side Tamworth at home in the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup on October 26.

"I'm very pleased that we have been drawn at home, it will be nice for our supporters to get behind us without having to travel down to the Midlands," said Parsley.
