A Subaru Impreza was stolen after thieves pinched keys from a house in Shelf.
The incident happened between 1.40pm and 5pm yesterday in Burned Road.
The alarm box was ripped from the wall of the house after intruders scaled a drainpipe to get onto the roof of a dining room.
The centre of a door was then removed and property stolen from the house, including a mobile phone and 32in television. A spare set of car keys also went missing.
The complainant returned home and heard a screech of tyres and the vehicle was taken.
The saloon car was recovered at 8.15pm in Sunshine Court in the Woodside Estate in Bradford. The vehicle had been abandoned with its lights on. It is understood to have some accident damage to the bodywork.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw the car being abandoned, who may have been in a collision with it, or has any other information to call them on (01422) 337077.
