Pakistanis from Bradford, West Yorkshire and Lancashire have marched through Bradford in protest against the arrest of their Prime Minister Mr. Zulfiquar Ali Bhutto. More than 400 gathered in Salt Street, Manningham, with placards, for the march through the city centre and back to Lumb Lane, Manningham.The march was primarily aimed at the military government in Pakistan which has ruled since the arrest of Mr. Bhutto in July.

By one vote, Bradford Corporation Housing Sub-committee today recommended that the Council should agree in principle to the sale of council houses to sitting tenants - thus reversing their previous decision to take no action. This was decided after a petition was received from 33 Corporation tenants of pre-war estates at Greengates and Idle, submitted through a member of the city council.
