In a massive boost for the Bulls ahead of Saturday's clash with St Helens, Robbie Paul today revealed he wants to end his career at Bradford.

Paul admitted he was in talks with the Bulls over a new, long-term deal.

The news will delight Bradford fans ahead of the Old Trafford Grand Final, as rumours he would switch codes have been rife since brother Henry went to Gloucester last year.

The inspirational Kiwi is in his ninth season with the world champions and revealed he now has no plans to move on.

"I hope I see out my career here, I'd really like that," said Paul, who scored a hat-trick against St Helens at Wembley in 1996 but still finished on the losing side. "Time will tell. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't talking about a long-term contract. When you find yourself happy at a place and they're happy with you, you hope you'd be able to work something out.

"I don't want to leave. I played for Quins but I never ever pictured myself playing for another British club, not at this level."

With veteran prop Brian McDermott making a decision on his retirement after the Saints clash, it could leave Paul as the Bulls' longest-serving player and the only survivor from the club's pre-Super League days when they were known as Bradford Northern.

l Snubbed Bulls stars Joe Vagana and Lesley Vainikolo have been handed an international lifeline.

Kiwi coach Gary Freeman has placed the Bradford players on stand-by ahead of the Test Series with Great Britain.

The New Zealand team arrived in England yesterday for their eight-match tour to be greeted with the news that Wigan's Craig Smith has had to drop out with an ankle injury.

And with the touring party now down to 24, Freeman may need to bring in either of the Bradford-based Kiwis if there any more drop-outs. "Lesley and Joe are on my list if there are any more problems," said Freeman.
