Girls from primary schools across Keighley competed in a six-a-side football tournament.
The event, at Marley Stadium last Friday, was believed to be the largest of its kind ever held in West Yorkshire.
Over 120 youngsters took part.
Organiser PC Glyn Butterworth, the Keighley police youth services officer, said: "Following the successful mini world cup tournament I organised earlier this year, several schools approached me about the possibility of a girls-only event.
"An incredible 17 schools accepted the invitation to take part.
"While there was a competitive edge to the day, the success for me was the sight of so many young people from diverse backgrounds and cultures coming together and enjoying themselves.
"Its success has been measured by the number of schools involved, in what can only be described as a pioneering event in terms of ladies' football in the district."
He thanked Bradford Council and Keighley and District FA for their support, school nurses who provided free fruit and bottled water, and referees Simon Todd and Wayne Butterworth. Chief Insp Martin Jordan, who was among those presenting trophies to the winners, said: "The chance for the police to be seen to be encouraging girls to become involved in other sports, outside those traditionally associated with schooling, is extremely exciting.
"This I hope will be the start of many such sporting events that encourage a more involved and varied role for girls and women in the area.
"This event is to be commended as a flagship model aimed at providing real social cohesion in the area."
The top two teams from each of four first-round qualifying groups progressed to the quarter-finals, from which stage the tournament was on a knock out basis. The remaining nine teams qualified for a plate competition
The tournament champion was Nessfield Primary School, which beat Haworth 1-0 in the final.
The plate final was won by Our Lady of Victories, with a 1-0 success over Hothfield.
The Nessfield squad -- coached by Steve Brett -- comprised Charlotte Hutchinson, Emily Huck, Emma Bradley, Emma Kettlewell, Kellie Anderson, Bethany Reece and Danielle Cox.
The Our Lady of Victories line-up -- coached by Carmel Andrews -- consisted of Lucie Shutt, Emily Boocock, Sarah Ahmed, Jessica Copperwaite, Rebecca Brown, Ria Nicholls, Maisey and Rosie Helliwell, and Isobel Webster.
Trophies and commemorative medals were handed out.
Among those who made presentations -- together with Chief Insp Jordan -- were Cllr David Emmott, Keighley FA secretary Peter Allen and Sheffield Wednesday and England women's goalkeeper Rachelle Holdsworth.
