SIX Glusburn School pupils have scooped a regional prize in journalism.
The group from year six beat off competition from 20,600 other entrants to take first prize in the regional heat of the Write Here Write Now competition, run by the DfEE.
Their TV coverage of a fictional fight between two teachers, including interviews and links between the studio and on-the-spot reporters, will now go forward to the national finals.
They will represent Yorkshire and Humberside at the awards, which will be held in London on November 28, where they will be rubbing shoulders with television stars, authors and Government ministers.
The group comprised Emily Atkins, Thomas Collings, Lauren Pitt, Nathan Pickles, Robbie Purvis and Mary Savill.
