Ossett Town 3, Farsley Celtic 0: After knocking Ossett Town out of the FA Trophy and drawing away in their UniBond League clash, Celtic's near neighbours and great rivals finally got their revenge last night.

Town cruised to a 3-0 win over a weakened Celtic side in the UniBond Challenge Cup second round as the visitors finished with nine men after a double injury blow.

All three substitutes had been used when Liam Gray and Stephen Ball were forced to retire from the action in the 62nd and 79th minutes respectively.

After Celtic's Ian Blackstone had blazed over with only the home keeper to beat in the fifth minute it went downhill for the visitors. James Walshaw put Town in front on the quarter hour and added a second just after the hour.

Steve Olekseweyz netted the third in the 72nd minute when the Celts were already down to ten fit men.

"This wasn't our No 1 priority and you have got to use your squad so we had five changes from the team that won on Saturday in the league," said assistant manager John Deacey.

"We might not have expected to win after that but the manner in which we lost disappointed me. In certain areas we were let down by the team we had out, but there were some good points.

"It was important that Andy Shields got a full 90 minutes after his knee problems and Amjad Iqbal proved he is as good as we expected by playing in the centre of defence rather than in midfield."
